Last Minute Details

Hey again. Thanks for getting me those signed permission forms, looks like we're
all set to go. One last reminder; when you bring your stuff to the church at
4:30pm, we will be quickly loading everything up onto a trailer. Please put
your sleeping bag, etc in a black garbage bag with your name on it. That way if
it rains or gets dusty, your stuff won't get ruined. If you have a small
suitcase it can go on the trailer as well, just make sure it's OK to get wet or
dusty, or put it in a garbage bag as well. You can keep a small bag or backpack
in the car with you as we travel (it's about 90 minute drive).

We will be walking around for about an hour before the pageant so wear comfy
shoes. (Do I sound like a mom yet?). Make sure you go potty before we leave!

Manti here we come

Alright, we are on the final countdown here for youth conference. I still need permission forms from: Haley W., Amber, Kelsey, Kathryn, Caroline, Liz and Erika. You cannot come without your signed form!!!


Please read over the letter you got the other night and make sure you have all the stuff you need to bring. I just spoke with a woman who works with the pageant, and she said they get a lot of mosquitos, so make sure to wear long pants/sleeves and bring bug spray! She also said it gets cold, so you'll want a jacket for sure, and an extra blanket (**We need extra blankets anyway to put on the chairs to reserve them, so bring an old blanket if you can and just hold onto it in the car). She also said there might be some rain, but they have only cancelled the pageant once in 40 years, so bring an umbrella or rain jacket to be safe.

Goblin Valley

This weekend we went to Goblin Valley. It was SOOOO fun!
We left on Friday at about 4. We drove to Price and stopped at Wendy's for dinner. We then drove to the camp and set up. After, we went to Goblin Valley. The rock formations were really cool. Goblin Valley is called that because the formations look like goblins. Anywho, we played games until about 11 and then went back to camp to hear stories, told by Brother Soper.

Saturday we woke up at about 8 and cleaned up camp. We then went back to Goblin Valley because we all wanted to see it during the day time and we all wanted to take pictures. (Sounds like us.) We then went on a 2 and a half hour hike. 2 1/2 miles up, 2 1/2 miles down. It was really pretty and super fun! After the hike we headed home. We stopped in Price again and went to Taco Bell for dinner! (:

Ugly Sweater/White Elephant gift

About two weeks ago we all headed over to Sister O'Barr's house for pizza, white elephant gifs, and an ugly sweater contest. It was so much fun!
Miley won the ugly sweater contest.

Today the Young Men and Young Women went caroling! Thanks everyone who helped with the hay ride, refreshments, and whatever else had to be done!! And thank you Monica for the pictures!

Extreme Room Makeover

Hi girls! Ok, as we talked about in YW, our activity this week is "Extreme Room Makeover." We will be making over the YW room into a more cozy place for you to call your own! We will have several stations set up. This is a list of some of the things we will be doing. If you want to request to be in a certain group, write back and let Sister O'Barr (everyone should have her e-mail) know. You might not get your first pick, so if you have a preference, give me your second and third choices as well.


1. Floral arrangement; learn the basics on how to put together a cute flower arrangement (using the 7 value colors, of course!)
2. Treats; learn how to make a quick, yummy treat that you can share with everyone
3. Bulletin Boards; we have three separate boards that require cutting, gluing, picture-arranging, etc.
4. Picture hanging; use a real hammer and nail, and using a level to hang things properly on the wall. Very useful skill!
5. Closet spelunking; discover the depths of the YW closet; uncover hidden treasures from Young Women in the past (like, early 21st century theme cards!)


Also, if any of you have any other ideas (like, you want to cross-stitch the theme for a YW project) let me know. Spread the word and we'll see you all Wednesday!!
