Camp. The final countdown!

Hey everyone; the moment we have all been waiting for is ALMOST here! (and I'm not talking about the Jonas Brothers at Stadium of fire). Here are a few reminders:

1. If you got an "extension" on your poster, it is up. Sis Peel needs your posters TODAY.

2. You are allowed the following on the bus: 1 pillow and 1 small backback/carry on to take with you on the bus; 1 sleeping bag and 1 duffle bag to put underneath the bus. ANYTHING else (hiking backpacks, big foam pads, camp chairs, etc) needs to be at Sis Peel's house by TOMORROW (Saturday) at 2pm. She will be loading up a trailer with all that stuff and it will go up separately.

3. If you did not get a T-shirt the other night, please let me or Sis Peel know ASAP. Otherwise, make sure you pack your shirts! Our ward's color is Red, so if you have any other red shirts, bring 'em too!

4. Check your packing list today. You don't want to run around Monday night looking for bug spray, or an "ugly hat"

5. 4th Years. I have talked to all of you separately, but remember that unless you are putting all your clothes, etc. into your hiking backpack, it needs to be at Sis Peel's house tomorrow with all the rest of the gear (Ariana, yours is already there). Also, remember to come to my house Monday at 1pm so we can make our tinfoil dinners.

6. Don't forget to pack a lunch for Tuesday, and bring snacks you might want to eat on the bus. It is going to be hot, so maybe not an egg salad sandwich, if you know what I mean...

TOMORROW IS FLAGS at 7:30am and 7:30pm. IF YOU ARE GOING TO CAMP YOU SHOULD BE THERE!! You may have noticed that you have never had to pay a penny for girls camp, even though it is not cheap, and many wards require at least a partial payment from their youth, or a big fundraiser. That is because our "fundraiser" is the flags - the ward members donate to our "flag fund" every year and it pays for your camp and other activites. It goes without saying that if you are benefitting from the "flag fund" you ought to be out there helping us put up the flags, right? Tho't so!! See you bright and early. If you need a ride, call any leader; we would love to come pick you up!

Last Minute Details

Hey again. Thanks for getting me those signed permission forms, looks like we're
all set to go. One last reminder; when you bring your stuff to the church at
4:30pm, we will be quickly loading everything up onto a trailer. Please put
your sleeping bag, etc in a black garbage bag with your name on it. That way if
it rains or gets dusty, your stuff won't get ruined. If you have a small
suitcase it can go on the trailer as well, just make sure it's OK to get wet or
dusty, or put it in a garbage bag as well. You can keep a small bag or backpack
in the car with you as we travel (it's about 90 minute drive).

We will be walking around for about an hour before the pageant so wear comfy
shoes. (Do I sound like a mom yet?). Make sure you go potty before we leave!

Manti here we come

Alright, we are on the final countdown here for youth conference. I still need permission forms from: Haley W., Amber, Kelsey, Kathryn, Caroline, Liz and Erika. You cannot come without your signed form!!!


Please read over the letter you got the other night and make sure you have all the stuff you need to bring. I just spoke with a woman who works with the pageant, and she said they get a lot of mosquitos, so make sure to wear long pants/sleeves and bring bug spray! She also said it gets cold, so you'll want a jacket for sure, and an extra blanket (**We need extra blankets anyway to put on the chairs to reserve them, so bring an old blanket if you can and just hold onto it in the car). She also said there might be some rain, but they have only cancelled the pageant once in 40 years, so bring an umbrella or rain jacket to be safe.

Goblin Valley

This weekend we went to Goblin Valley. It was SOOOO fun!
We left on Friday at about 4. We drove to Price and stopped at Wendy's for dinner. We then drove to the camp and set up. After, we went to Goblin Valley. The rock formations were really cool. Goblin Valley is called that because the formations look like goblins. Anywho, we played games until about 11 and then went back to camp to hear stories, told by Brother Soper.

Saturday we woke up at about 8 and cleaned up camp. We then went back to Goblin Valley because we all wanted to see it during the day time and we all wanted to take pictures. (Sounds like us.) We then went on a 2 and a half hour hike. 2 1/2 miles up, 2 1/2 miles down. It was really pretty and super fun! After the hike we headed home. We stopped in Price again and went to Taco Bell for dinner! (:
